A week ago, we were on the Cape Cod Lighthouse Crawl and we had a blast! We started the first night with clouds and a bit of fog, perfect conditions for photographing moody lighthouse beams. The second night was spectacular! Star-filled and glorious. As our group photographed the beautiful Highland Light and the Milky Way, my camera was on the sidelines and captured their shadows dancing, and the stars. Those of you who joined me on the adventure, thank you!

Next weekend, we have two scheduled Meetups at Robbins Park. Why two at the same place? The Moon will rise in different spots and at different times, offering distinctly different framing and light. We kick off June with a time-lapse workshop at Castle Island, followed by a photo tour in iconic Acadia National Park! We end the month of June with a weekend of creative photography - Join me and 6 other speakers for Hazel Meredith's Virtual Creative Photography weekend -- June 27-28th.

Many of you know of my obsession for clear, star-filled skies. However, I have another obsession, this time on the opposite extreme - thunderstorms. I adore them and photograph lightning as much as can. Lightning is difficult to capture, even with a lightning trigger. Last fall, I discovered a Kickstarter for a new lightning trigger, very different from the one I own and others I have tried. So, I pledged support for its development. This week, my Bolt Hunter trigger landed and the next day I got to try it out on a thunderstorm. Just WOW. If you enjoy photographing lightning, definitely look into this device. It puts all other triggers to shame.

Clear skies,
Silvana

For anyone who has photographed star trails, stacking the frames quickly reveals the multitude of plane trails and space paraphernalia that litter a sky full of stars and the subsequent tedious task of removing them.
