List of filters
Made for telescopes but work very well on large telephoto lenses. Measure the outside diameter of the largest lens, with and without the lens hood as these can be mounted on both. These are available in both glass and solar film. |
Recommended brands. With links to suggested filter types. |
There are now solar filters being offered by lens filter makers like Kase, K&F, Hoya and others. These are good but do not specifically note that they filter IR/UV light as full aperture filters do. DSLR Live View focusing is highly recommended to protect your eyes. NOTE: Any solar filter should always be mounted on the end of the lens. Never use drop in filters or clip-in sensor filters when photographing the Sun. |
